Since prehistoric times, mankind has been interpreting the
world in which he lives. Painting is a means of recording
our aspirations, fears and thoughts etc.
I choose to use oil paints and pastels as my preferred mediums.
Large scale painting is carried out on stretched canvas (a
method developed during the Renaissance) and smaller paintings
on prepared board. Pastels are done on tinted paper or card.
Small studies are often done of some part of the landscape
and of figures but the studio work is done indoors and requires
a meditative state to be reached before images can be pulled
from the mists.
